Beijing National Stadium
Build for the 2008 Summer Olympics
The Beijing National Stadium was built for the 2008 Summer Olympics. The construction cost was 325 million euros, the stadium has 91,000 seats. The arena hosted the opening and closing ceremonies, athletics competitions and Olympic football games.
The stadium was used for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2020 Winter Olympics.
Despite announcements to the contrary, it has not been possible to establish a football club permanently in the stadium, so that the national stadium is only used very irregularly.
The stadium can be visited by tourists, which is the main source of income for the operators.
